JANET:

 My formal education is in secretarial business management. When I met Michael in college, he was doing small remodeling projects for extra income. He was very handsome, and quite knowledgeable so, of course, I offered to help him! He taught me everything he knew and we became such a good team that I suggested we start a remodeling company; Michael had a better idea…marry me and we will be Jan-Michaels Construction.


I have always loved the challenge of making something better. When clients came to me with architectural plans, I would suggest design changes. Soon, I found that my clients preferred my design ideas. I put down my tool belt and taught myself how to design floor plans.


I love working with clients and creating unique designs that showcase their style and individuality.

MICHAEL:

My formal education is in music and business administration. My dad taught me everything he knew about remodeling so that by the time I met Janet in college, I was playing trumpet in a band and doing remodeling jobs on the side.


One day, I lost my helper and Janet jumped into action and became my new helper. I admired how willing she was to do physical labor and get her hands dirty. She was a great partner so when she suggested we start a company, I asked her to marry me!


I am always at the job site working side by side with subcontractors to ensure that my projects are built with the high standards my clients have come to expect.


I still love music, but my true passion is engineering and building.

Michael

40 years later, it is still just the two of us running Jan-Michaels Construction.


We chose to keep our company small which allows us to provide our clients with the kind of personal service that is hard to find these days.


Our clients know they can reach out to us anytime and one of us will be there to answer their questions or help them make an informed decision.


Today, Janet and I are excited about designing and building custom homes for new clients in our new subdivision, Molasses Hill Estates, in Brookfield, MA.
